Blue's Dog Bowl: Fresh Burgers & Friendly Vibes in Luray, VA

Food truck outside of a bar. Outdoor seating, no AC in the bar either. There's a canopy to help block the sun but you'll still feel the hear on a hot summer day. Everyone was so friendly, even the dog at the bar (the dog will come up to you when you have your food but is very nice and friendly). The food was good but didn't fully vibe with it. I had the calrese burger and it was okay, nothing special. The loaded fries were great though, large enough to share.

The smash burgers and fries were absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone. A member of our group left behind a cherished vintage Stetson hat, which the staff promptly secured and returned to us—a testament to their care. Don’t miss the bar area, where the hospitable team crafts refreshing, expertly made drinks. A fantastic experience all around!

Stopped here for lunch post-hike with our dog and cannot emphasize how good this was. Staff were very friendly and helped us decide what to get, food was made pretty quick and all the ingredients were super fresh. We got the southwest burger which was the weekly special and the chicken smasher with jalapeño aioli. I wish I asked for some more of that aioli to go it was so good. The truck is right outside of a brewery and I imagine they’re pretty busy on the weekends but we had no issue grabbing a table outside on a Thursday afternoon. Highly recommend grabbing a burger here if you’re passing through, visiting, or live in the area

I loved this place! The burgers are amazing and the drinks are reasonable. Bought 2 bottles of local whiskey. I love the dog-friendly atmosphere. Don't pass on the garlic aioli. This place is a must while visiting Luray.

Fresh burgers, excellent food quality, warm attentive staff, and amazing tasting food; what more could you ask for? Even better that the food truck is right next to a Blue Shepherd Distillery so we grabbed some drinks while we waited for our food. Staff was extremely friendly and the buffalo chicken loaded fries were some of the best loaded fries I’ve had in my life. Highly recommend

Every now and again you come across one of those diamonds in the rough that you just have to tell everyone about in order to relive the experience. This is absolutely one of those places. Even in the rain, we had a phenomenal meal and drinks, spent time with Bruce the Blue Shepherd, and chatted with the owner, Alex, about our day and how welcome we felt at his establishment. Blue’s is quaint, inviting, comfortable, and everything you’d want in a side of the road distillery and burger joint. What a wonderful place and we’ll be back for more soon.

I went for a drive in Shenandoah National Park and stopped by a busy place to grab a burger to go while taking a restroom break. On my way back, I was surprised to see a shepherd dog — it looked like it was smiling at people! The burger was delicious, and the staff were very friendly.

The BSD is a must when you’re in town, even if you don’t own a shepherd :) The staff is exceptional and the vibe is amazing. Themed cocktails for Halloween are fantastic. Spirit flights for the purist. A must do… a great experience.
